Dalmahoy 2 Muthill 3 in the Mixed Team National Competition.
What a tremendous victory for Muthill Golf Club today at Dalmahoy. A bit wet to start with but, like the golf, the weather got better as the day went on. It was a very tight match, sitting at 2 games all, it all came down to the last game and the last hole which was won by Craig Whyte & Anne McClure
Results:
L. Donaldson & H. Wynd lost 3+2
J. Donaldson & K. MacLean lost 2+1
J. Lees & K. Holden won 3+2
G. McGregor & G. Tarbet won 4+2
C. Whyte & A. McClure won 1 up
Huge thanks to all participants today – Helen, Karen, Katie, Gillian, Anne, and Les, James, John, Gregor and Craig. A big thank you too to Dalmahoy for their tremendous hospitality – tea/coffee, roll and bacon or sausage on arrival, (not saying who had both) then more at the halfway house and a bar tab on finishing. (Is Gregor home yet?!) So Muthill are the last team from Scotland left in the competition. Next round could be against a team from Newcastle, but we’ll have to wait to see whether it’ll be home or away. Thanks again to all for a great day!
Many thanks to everyone who came along to our Greenkeeper’s Day Texas scramble today. The weather was a bit mixed, but it didn’t dampen spirits!Congratulations to winners Sue Crorie, Jenny Crorie and Willie Dowie, and to runners up Lesley Malkin, Andy Malkin and Margaret Robertson.Thank you also to Jacq for her delicious baking!
Your Club needs you!!!!!Opens provide a much needed source of funding for our Golf Club. The Gents Open is on 6th August and is very low on numbers. You can book via the Scottish Golf app against any tee time that is not already taken or marked as Reserved. Alternatively, you can email john.lees14@yahoo.com but please check availability on the app first. If all else fails, you can speak to Nigel or John, who will try to assist you!! We also need prizes for the raffle/tombola. Donations will be gratefully received and can be left at the clubhouse at any time. Some volunteers for the day, to assist with cards, starts, raffle/tombola, car parking, etc would also be appreciated. From your Gents Committee.
Congratulations to Helen Wynd , Muthill Ladies Champion 2022. Helen narrowly beat Katie Holden in this years final in what was a very close match. In fact it went to the last putt on the 18th to decide the match. Well done both Helen and Katie.
Congratulations to Gregor -Scratch Champion and Brian – Handicap Champion
What a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon! It was a lovely sociable occasion and it definitely was a case of many hands making light work. A special thank you to Sue Crorie for the good idea in the first place and also for organising everything and everyone.
⛳️ Yesterday saw Muthill Golf Club playing Royal Montrose Mercantile Golf Club, at Muthill, in the second round of the National Inter-Clubs Mixed Team Knockout Championships.
What a great day we had….weather, food and golf…..and the best bit – the 4 1/2 to 1/2 win for Muthill!
Thanks to both the ladies and gents who participated today:-
Helen Wynd, Katie Holden, Karen MacLean, Anne McClure and Gillian Tarbet from the Ladies. 🏌️♀️
